Me: all the files i will be working on today are in my office so need to take my briefcase again.

MAMA T’s APARTMENT.
Mrs Bukky appeared infront of mama T and laughed wickedly. The whole room was filled with wind, evil wind of course.
Mama T: what is it you want from me again?
Mrs Bukky: nothing.
Mama T: so why are you here?
Mrs Bukky: just to warn you…
Mama T: what?
Mrs Bukky: idris is on his way to your house. You are hear by allowed to do everything with him but don’t sleep with him.

I went home and saw Anita sitting down on a chair watching her normal telenovela.

Me: *clears throat*
Anita: baby you are back.
She shouted and she ran to hug me..
Me: wait oo, so you mean you didn’t notice the time i came inside?
I asked her.

I asked feeling hungry.

MIDNIGHT OF THE SAME DAY
SOMEWHERE DEEP INSIDE THE COVEN..
The snake ladies where having their usuall meeting when the queen mother called Mama T.
Queen: Mama T step out.

Mama T came out.

Queen: its your turn to sacrifice meat to us. Kindly go ahead.

The Queen mother said..
Mama T smiled as she picked a calabash with some black substance in it.

She walked majestically and called out.
Mama T: idris, idris, idris!!
Mrs Bukky was stunned and shouted.
Mrs Bukky: queen mother, she is calling Idris.
Queen: and so?
Mrs Bukky: i am bonded to him which give her no right in other to kill him.
Queen: hahaha, you both are bonded to him and you both share the same right over him. Mama T can sacrifice him whenever she wishes likewise you…
Mrs Bukky: but…..

I slowly stood up and was surprised, my soul was lifted out of my body. I thought i was dead because i tried my best to enter inside my body but it didn’t work.



I tried waking Anita but all to no avail. She just turned and wrapped her hands around my lifeless body.

I sat down on the floor crying when my body was slowly lifting from the ground till my legs were no longer touching ground and in the twinkle of an eye, i vanished.

I appeared in the midst of several women wearing red. Something just came upon me and i walked and lay ontop the altar.

Then a woman who looked like mama T but i didn’t know because of the way she dress came out. Took a knife and raised it up.

Mama T invoked my spirit and i appeared. She commanded me to lie down which i diligently obeyed.

Mrs Bukky was crying silently because there was nothing she could do at that time. It was obvious that my time has come.

She raised the knife and as she was bringing it down, Mrs Bukky disappeared.

The whole place was another pandemonium because noone is allowed to leave the coven when the meeting is not over.


Queen: i can see that Mrs Bukky is trying my patience, no problem. She would be dealt with. Carryon with the ritual.

She said to Mama T.
Mama T: yes Queen mother.

Mama T replied as she raised her hands again bringing it down to my chest with full force.

Mrs Bukky appeared infront of her only for her to collect the knife and stabbed Mama T straight to the heart.

Immediately she did that, i disappeared from the coven. Mama T fell down as she tried to take in her last breath.

The knife from the coven was a sacred one and it kills everyone including the snake ladies. Mrs Bukky knew the consequence of what she has done, her life to must surely go down but she warned mama T not to temper with her Idris.

Mama T disappeared from the coven and appeared in her body, lifeless because she was dead and her body is being taken straight to hell.

Queen: what have you done Bukky?
She shouted as thunder came out from her eyes and mouth.

Just then, the goddess appeared in a pillar of cloud.
goddess: Mrs Bukky, you have broken our sacred law and wether you are the next Queen to be or not, you shall pay with like others.

She said and stretched fort her magic rod towards Mrs Bukky.

Mrs Bukky soul disappeared and went straight to hell alongside Mama T.

Her body lay lifeless in her room seeking for the first person to break the news.
goddess: the boy Idris has made us loose two important people in this hood. From now on, hunt him down day and night till you kill him. I am giving you seven days to do this.

She said and disappeared.
Queen: you have heard her right?

Early morning next day…

I woke up and my body was covered with stretch marks all over. I yawned and stood up.
Me: Jesusss!!!
Anita: *jumped up* what is it?

I cleaned my eyes with my hands once again. But couldn’t see it..
Me: i thought i saw a woman wearing red standing here.

I pointed to a corner of our room. It looked so real for a minute and before i could process things normally, the person was gone. Well maybe my mind is playing tricks with me.
Anita: hahaha, fear fear baby. So you mean you saw a woman wearing red standing here by this time, this early morning.
Me: ermm.
Anita: abegee, if a witch is standing here shouldn’t it kill or do something bad, was it guiding us?
Me: erm…
Anita: that’s why i said you shouldn’t watch this nigerian witches film before going to bed, it always affect you.

I hit are with the pillow and the pillow fight started. well as the man, i have to ensure that she emerged the winner.

I dashed into the bathroom, were Anita was brushing her teeth.

Me: *peeped through the door but there was nothing their, i must get treated for malaria*

Immediately i entered inside, taarh, i didn’t enter. I just peeped to see inside and lo and behold, a huge cobra was on the floor. It tried to bite me but i ran at a neck breaking speed.

I ran and jumped on anita clenching on her tightly as if i was a second skin on her body.
Anita: what is it again?
She asked angrily this time.
Me: a huge cobra is inside the bathroom.

She said and went inside the bathroom but didn’t see anything.
Anita: *angrily* whats all this nonsense na. What kind of rubbish joke is this.

She said and was about to go but i grabbed her.

I kissed her and that was all. She so much loved me and couldn’t resist.

I dressed up and walked to the dining table. Truth is, i have no appetite but i have got to eat for the sake of Anita.

We were looking dull through out the day. I picked up my phone and called my darling Anita.
Me: hello, Anita.
Anita: Idris, why did you leave your car at home.
Me: the key was faulty so i couldn’t open the door.
Anita: better.
Me: why did you say better?
Anita: i thought you wanted to make another joke about seeing one useless woman again. The one with snake head.
Me: hahaha, forget about her. Its all in the past.
Anita: so why are you calling me?
Me: get ready, we are going to my village.
Anita: for what? Is that another joke?
Me: no, our boss Mrs Bukky was found dead in her apartment this morning. Our company will be closing down for a month. We might resume next year.
Anita: but i thought our trip was planned during December.
Me: its just a few weeks to December na.
Anita: lets wait till December abeg.
Me: no, no. I have money now and i want our traditional marriage to be done as soon as possible. Abi you don’t want me to marry me? You want me to spend the money abi?
