As Peter pulled up at Ndukpo – Ise Community in Akwa Ibom State, he looked at the peaceful community and knew that they had been right to pick up a police man from Uyo. A policeman from here might be too unwilling to carry out action against one of his own. He wondered if he would need another local guide because upon seeing the police man in the car, the cab driver had gone mute. Peter knew the driver was worried that his passengers were here to cause trouble.
He had learnt that Eno had come to her village to hide and he had decided to pick her up with the police in her hometown. As they parked by the town centre and the police men asked the driver to alight and ask for the Offiong Family House. After about five minutes of asking around, a young boy pointed them in the direction of Eno’s Family House.
Upon arrival at the bungalow, Peter found a deserted house. However, he saw an old woman coming back from the farm. The woman turned out to be Eno’s Grandma. She informed them that Eno had been in the house till that morning and had only gone to the big city, Uyo to open a bank account. The old lady advised them to wait and offered them some water to drink.
After waiting for a while and Eno did not appear, a decision had to be taken and the police man explained to grandma that due to Eno’s crime, she would have to be taken in until Eno appearsThey tried to pacify the old lady who began to shed tears because of her fear for the Police force. Peter understood her plight and reassured her that she would be well taken care of and that once Eno showed up, he would personally return her to the village. A message was dropped for Eno and they set off to the big city.
Upon arrival at the station in Uyo, Peter asked to see the District Police Officer who agreed to have the old lady stay in his office, on account of her age. Peter had kept his word as he ensured that the woman was cared for.
After this, he went back to his hotel to wait for Eno’s to contact him. While doing this, he lay on the bed. He knew he had to use the recent information Tessy had provided to good use. Peter was no longer sure that he could continue to work for a man who was sleeping with Aduke, the love of his life.
*********
It was after walking around for about an hour that Aduke realised the magnitude of what she had done. She chastised herself because she ought to have put more thought into her plans. How could she have left without her passport and some money? How was she to sort herself out? She felt really stupid.
Aduke decided to return to the hotel room because she knew she had to face the music at some point.
As she opened the door, she saw him lying on the sofa, face down. She was surprised at the look on his face. It was one of apprehension and not of anger. He looked like a man with doubts.
‘Hello’ said Aduke, unsure of how he would react to her.
‘Hey Aduke’ was his wan response
‘Are you okay?’ she asked, testing the waters
‘I’m fine. You?’ he responded
She was surprised that he asked this. Her response was drawn out ‘I’m fffiiiiiiine’ she was waiting for a reaction.
‘Sit down, we need to talk’ he said, his face was serious.
‘Why did you run away? He asked before she could sit.
‘I didn’t r…’ she tried to respond
‘Did you think I was going to Molest you’ he interjected before, she completed her answer
‘I would never force a woman to have S£x, Aduke. You should have just said you didn’t want to. Besides I cannot have S£x with you yet. No matter how desperate I am, its only fair that you should know what you are in for before we begin to have intercourse. And by the way, I do not sleep with every woman that comes my way. I have been burnt by S£x, so I’m very careful with it, my dear’
‘Burnt, how? Were you raped as a child? Is that why you thought I feared Molest from you? Her questions tumbled upon one another
‘Hmm, I wonder if it isn’t too early for this…’ said Alhaji, thinking out loud
‘Aduke, have you heard of Vesicovaginal Fistula? Do you know what it is?’ he asked
‘VVF? I’ve kinda heard of it. She wondered why he had changed the topic so abruptly
‘Let me tell you a story’ Gabbo eyes suddenly looked farway ‘A young Northern boy in his early twenties was betrothed to marry an even younger girl of fifteen and despite the education he had, he foolishly agreed to follow the cultural dictates and married her. He did not care that she was unwilling to get married at the time or that she cried every time they had intercourse. For this young man, S£x was delicious. She was fresh, tight and sweet, this girl was tiny and beautiful. A few months later, she fell pregnant and the families asked that he allow her stay with her family who would help her throughout the pregnancy’ He looked at her to confirm she was following his story
‘This was not a strange request and the young boy conceded. A baby boy was born, handsome as he was huge. He had been too big for his tiny mother to push out and by the time the young northern boy travelled to visit his wife, she had already lost control of her bladder and was already being treated like an outcast. In those days, the young man was unable to afford proper medical care and the waiting list was too long. It took him several years before he could afford to fly her abroad to treat her ailment. When she got there, she begged for a divorce and refused to come back home. She had been scarred for life. The lady has refused to have intercourse with any other man since the day her surgeries were done he completed the story with a sad look in his eyes.
‘Wow. that is so sad’ Aduke empathised with him, sorry for the young lady whose life had changed forever.
‘That young northern boy was me, Aduke. VVF is not only caused by prolonged labour in childbirth, it can be caused by Molest too. I will NEVER Molest a woman! I have seen too many women suffer. You just had to say no. I can make myself stop at any time. You did not have to run.
‘Wow!’ Aduke was surprised at the vehemence of his reaction.
‘Yes, that is why I fund research on VVF and support many VVF related charities. We have even recently begun to set something up for recovered victims in our organisation.’ He sounded sad, yet so passionate. She knew that even though this man was mad, there were reasons behind his madness. Aduke realised that everyone indeed had their own story to tell.
‘Strangely, Alhaji, Molest did not even cross my mind. I just wanted to teach you a lesson’ said Aduke
Gabbo responded by laughing out loud. ‘You, a mere child, teach me a lesson? He had the most incredible look on his face.
Is this why you would not have S£x and rather watch me dance?’ asked Aduke shyly
‘Yes and no. I find it really hard to have S£x immediately after visiting patients. I visited them the night before I came here, just last week. Perhaps this is because I psychologically feel responsible for having caused someone to go through that and more importantly’ continued Gabbo.
‘You are yet to sign a confidentiality agreement with me. Neither have you had your blood work done with my doctors.’ As he said this, the old Gabbo, leading Industrialist had come back. Gone was the sensitive caring man.
‘Are you asking me nicely? teased Aduke ‘You would like to get some hot loving from me, wouldn’t you?’ she asked.
‘No, I’m not asking nicely. You would run those tests and when I finally have you, you would get on your knees and thank God for the experience. You would beg me to Fork you every time you see me and I would only concede based on your behaviour. It would remain your best Bleeping experience ever. No man would ever satisfy you after you have had me’ He walked out of the room immediately he said this.
Aduke was left with her mouth hanging open and her mind flashing back to the goodies she had seen earlier on in the shower cubicle, she looked at his departing back and knew that indeed, she was stuck with a mad man.

****How far? Have you gotten the money from her???****
Tessy’s text interrupted Peter’s reverie.
He looked at his phone and hissed. He knew he had to hatch out a plan. He continued to think. Would he be able to work with Alhaji now that he had finally snatched his girl? Should he walk off quietly with this money he was about to recover or should he get the tapes of that sordid night from Davis?
He could easily pretend that he wanted to Wannk off with it as some of the other guys did. He could easily use that tape as blackmail. But to be fair, the Boss had been very good to him.
As Peter weighed his options, he fell asleep and began to dream of an uncomplicated life. A life where he had a lot of money and also had his pretty Aduke by his side, keeping him happy.
